As part of Void Art Centre’s Reading Room, we are introducing a text recommended to us by artist Stéphane Verlet Bóttero, Léna Silberzahn’s text ‘ Are we insensitive to the ongoing devastation? From sensitive ecology to the fight against desensitization apparatus’. The text explores an approach to the environmental crisis that suggests a crisis of sensitivity, and that our inability to care for the world around us could be embedded in a failure of perception and caring.
The text has been translated into English by Stéphane, and informed the work presented at Void as part of ‘Composting for the future’ in collaboration with Echo Echo.
